Lee Comley Lee Comley CBRN and Incident Command

Lee is a highly experienced Fire Service Manager, having served for 27 years with Avon Fire & Rescue Service. In addition to his normal management duties, he was also responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the Hazardous Material and Mass Public Decontamination training for operational crews and supervisory officers within Avon Fire & Rescue Service.

Lee recently carried out a three year secondment from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, to work within the Counter Terrorism Policing National CBRN Centre (NCBRNC) as the lead Fire Service instructor. He was responsible for designing and delivering first responder CBRN Response training, along with operational, tactical and strategic CBRN Commander training to all Emergency Services, the Military and Government agencies throughout both the UK and internationally.

During his secondment to the NCBRNC he was deployed to the Salisbury and Amesbury nerve agent incidents, where he put his knowledge and experience to good use providing tactical advice and PPE training.

During his time at the NCBRNC Lee gained nationally recognised qualifications as a Fire Service National Inter Liaison Officer (NILO), Hazardous Material Advisor and CBRN Tactical Advisor. Lee is also currently the only Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) trained Fire Fighter in the UK.

Lee is currently leading the Avon Fire and Rescue Service Mutual Aid project, supporting the South West Ambulance Trust response to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
