Gary Jeffery Gary Jeffery Local Authority Specialist

With over 34 years of experience Gary has recently retired from the fire and rescue service. He is experienced in developing plans, capability and capacity to support multi-agency contingency plans and strategic arrangements for major incidents, from those locally to those at a national and even international level.

Over the last five years, in the role of a Strategic Manager, Gary has also provided leadership ad support to operational responses and has fulfilled the requirements of Command and oversight. He has delivered strategic advice and support to resolve incident across two differing Authorities (Essex County and Bedfordshire & Luton). As a Functional Head and a member of Corporate Management Teams, Gary has been responsible for the coordination of human, physical and financial assets, to reduce risk and provide a professional pre-planned response to emergencies.

Gary has been involved with EU Civil Protection for more than 14 years, having attended many training courses, exercises and engagements in support of the UK and wider Civil Protection. He spent a number of years working across several UK government departments supporting and developing national advice and coordination, as well as coordinating EU training courses, exercises and deployments.

Gary has a Masters Degree in Leadership and change management and has obtained a Skills for Justice Level 7 Award in Strategic Command
