Andy had a very successful Fire Service career within metropolitan, combined and county Fire Authorities working cross all fire and rescue service disciplines in the UK over 30 years.
He gained significant operational and organisational command experience together with long and diverse political and staff management exposure in a wide range of settings. He served most of his career in London Fire Brigade and on working through the ranks up to Assistant Commissioner he commanded some of the most demanding operational incidents to take place in the capital.
The last six years were spent as the Chief Fire Officer of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service where he successfully led the Service through a range of positive organisational developments including a widely recognised improvement in internal culture, the aftermath of the Atherstone on Stour tragedy, and a successful first inspection of the Service by HMICFRS in 2018"
