Specialising in disaster and emergency response training and evaluation, Sean also works on the delivery of complex and/or specialist projects focusing on all aspects of Disaster Management and Civil Protection.
Previously serving in the Fire and Rescue Service with over 29 years experience of national resilience, operations, specialist response, emergency planning, international response, and training. Assurance Team lead providing guidance and support to Fire and Rescue Services, agencies and Government on National Resilience capabilities including Urban Search and Rescue, CBRN, high volume pumping and flood response.
A key leader of the UK International Search and Rescue team (UK ISAR) for 27 years as the National Coordinator and Emergency Medical Logistics team lead. During this time, Sean led many humanitarian and capacity building programs and responded in various capacities including Team Leader to international disasters across the world.
Sean was the INSARAG Operational Focal Point for the UK and also a member of the UN INSARAG Training Working Group for over 10 years leading the development of international policy and training programs. He is also an INSARAG classifier/mentor and has assisted countries to develop international response capacities leading personnel all over the world evaluating teams to ensure compliance with international search and rescue standards.
In 2016 Sean was awarded the Order of the British Empire Medal for services to national and international search and rescue operations.
