Gordon has experience of National and International operations, functional command and major projects/capacity building. With the ability to work at all levels within an organisation and manage stakeholder consultation to the highest level, he has worked with diverse organisations such as PwC, BiT Media e-solutions and a number of state run civil protection organisations.
As bid and program manager for the EU co-financed 'Exercise Orion', he negotiated a €1.36m budget to run what was considered a successful programme that delivered on time and in budget.
As a training provider with the aid of his psychologist partner, Gordon concentrates on how to explain complex and diverse issues in a clear and understandable manner to International students/participants right from induction level through to high level. He's worked continually as a visiting presenter on various EU Civil Protection courses since 2006 and also volunteers with the internationally recognised NGO MapAction.
Gordon is a member of the Union Civil Protection certification team for modules and is technical author for 7 UCP pre-online preparation courses. His first EUCP team International deployment was to the China earthquake in 2007, since then has deployed five more times (3 as team leader).
Gordon's published two technical reports both in relation to the largest oil storage depot fire in the UK; Buncefield - "The Fire response" and (co-authored) "the Multi Agency Response" report.
